Some very fancy test equipment. The brass item is a beautiful telegraph
signalling indicator from Before the Rinderpest...

is a construction microscope. A test-bed PSU is on the right

An Open-Tracker APRS unit, a Barlow-Wadley XCR-30 receiver,
an Atlas 210x HF transceiver, a Triplett multimeter [in AVO box behind] and
a small receiver long-wire ATU.

On the left is an elderly AM/FM tuner,
on the right is a National VP-5100A Oscilloscope.

CTARC Report & Photos of Flea Market of 7 March - Batch 1

The annual CTARC Mega Flea Market, held on 7 March 2020 was, as ever, a great success.

The weather was warm, the wind not strong and the turnout was encouraging. Many radio hams had their wares on display / for sake, and even more came to visit, browse, haggle and purchase.

Throughout the afternoon were were fortified by boerie rolls kindly braaid by John ZS1EQ and served by Anne and Elsabe. Liquid refreshments were also available.

Most of the surplus equipment that had been cluttering up the clubhouse interior was disposed of.

CTARC RAE HF Assessments - 7 Mar '20

On the morning of Saturday 7 March 2020, before the Mega Flea Market, candidates for the current RAE exam met with the course coordinator, Chris ZS1CDG for their on-air assessments.

Here are some photos of those first on-air appearances of new radio hams-to-be going through their paces. We wish them every success in the RAE!

Well done to Chris for introducing so many new people into our interesting hobby!

CTARC Annual Mega Flea Market - 7 Mar '20

CTARC’S ANNUAL BIGGEST, BUMPER FLEA MARKET YET!

 

The date of the CTARC Annual Flea Market is easy to remember, it’s always the first Saturday in March at the CTARC club house, off Laidlaw Lane in Rondebosch.

This year it is on March 7 opening at 12:00 noon for sellers to set up and to begin trading.

 There will be a small charge to sellers of R10 to help defray our costs but no charge to buyers and browsers. This small fee also allows sellers to park their vehicles on the grassy area directly in front of the club house. As this area is limited in size, buyers and non-sellers will be requested to park in the paved parking area of Laidlaw Road, which is immediately adjacent to the flea market area only a few metres away.

 Sellers are reminded to please bring their own table if they do not intend to sell out of their boot as the club has only a very limited amount of tables.

* Ice cold refreshments and B/Wors rolls will be available throughout the afternoon.
